Secondary Containment
Leaks and spills of hazardous chemicals can contaminate soil and
groundwater, and result in the need for costly site remediation.
Proposed new legislation would allow ministry officers to impose large
penalties for corporations and individuals who allow such unlawful
spills. In addition, companies are being strongly encouraged to go
beyond basic environmental compliance and to be proactive in their
approach to containment of hazardous chemicals. The cost of secondary
containment is typically a fraction of the expense incurred in the
clean-up and remediation of one major spill.
With over 50 years of combined applicator experience, Inscan is a
leading supplier of a variety of high-performance secondary
containment linings and membrane systems. From simple concrete
coatings, to troweled or fiberglass-reinforced lining systems, to
high-performance geosynthetic membranes, Inscan has the knowledge,
experience, and equipment to provide a “turnkey” installation from
start to finish. From abrasive blast preparation (including dust
extraction via a 20,000 cfm mobile dust collector), through skilled
application of the lining product, to completion and testing of the
finished system, Inscan has the expertise and equipment to do the job
right – the first time.
Having built long-term relationships with some of the industry’s
leading product manufacturers, we are able to recommend and supply the
best solution for a wide variety of applications. From bulk fuel
storage dikes to some of the most aggressive acid, alkali, salts, and
organic solvent containment areas, a system is available to meet your
needs.

Building a new secondary containment area?
Inscan has developed a semi-permanent berm system for indoor secondary
containment applications. This field-fabricated, fiberglass-reinforced
berm exhibits excellent chemical resistance and can be custom designed
to suit any configuration. The berm is tough enough for foot traffic,
yet, when your process or requirements change, it can be removed or
reconfigured more quickly and easily than a poured concrete berm.
